Forza Horizon 4 is an open-world racing game where you acquire points by completing races and events. These events are divided up between race types, such as road, dirt, cross country, and street race. Completing events rewards you with both currency and experience, the latter of which is required to unlock milestones and larger events, as well as change the season you're currently experiencing. The game's map has versions for all four seasons, which helps to keep things fresh. The driving is arcadey, yet exceptional, and there are many cars to choose from, each with its own set of special skills that you can spend skill points on.
Skill points are unlocked by chaining together actions while in the open world or racing, and they're a blast. However, if you go for standard edition, the game constantly reminds you that you don't have the dlc's. You always see dlc icons on the map, and screenshots about dlcs. You can see dlc cars on the shop and you can't buy them even if you have money.
Therefore, just to be safe, I recommend buying the ultimate edition. Also, I really liked the dlc maps and new mechanics they add. The first few hours of Forza Horizon 4 will you walk you through all four of the game's seasons as you experience how they change and evolve the open-world landscapes of beautiful, historic Britain. Following this, you'll be thrusted into the shared world of Horizon Life, where seasons, weather conditions and time-of-day are shared among all 72-players in your session.
The season will change every Thursday, introducing new cars, events and challenges to enjoy each time it happens. The first season available to players is Summer before transitioning to Autumn next week. In addition, the first two rides of the Forza Horizon 4 Car Pass are also now available to players, and these include the 2017 Koenigsegg Agera RS and the 1962 Triumph TR3B. Well, I really REALLY like the Z8, and this time the first 2 expansions come with the Ultimate edition. I never bought the Horizon 3 DLCs because I didn't see the value in spending that $40.
It didn't have enough content where it was worth spending almost another brand new game price on. Given what I got for Horizon 3's Ultimate Edition, this years has to be one of the best they have ever came out with. They brought back my Z4mc and I promised on this forum if they ever did that I would preorder Ultimate... This year was easily the best year to swallow the ultimate pill though.
I got good enjoyment out of FH3 but the map really held the game back. I stopped playing that game for a while because I constantly found myself bored with it. This year even playing the Demo I don't want to stop driving.
Feels to me already that this game will have much more playability for my drive style on the base map, not even taking into factor of the next two DLC's... In December 2020, as part of the Series 30 update, another new game mode called Super7 was added to the game, which came alongside the expanded "Blueprint Builder" feature. In Super7, players have to complete a series of seven randomly selected stunt challenges for rewards. In the following days, a fictional car, known as the 2058 Quadra V-Tech, was included in the game as part of the release of Cyberpunk 2077. If you are having crashes it's probably best to read a bunch of reviews, watch pc people play it ect.
But a bunch of folks around here for the most part are saying it runs much better and all . That seems like a bigger issue to you then if a ultimate edition is worth it. You still have a few days before early access kicks in and all that.
However, launch date is truly only the beginning, as developer Playground Games will release its first major content update for Forza Horizon 4 on October 25th. Lego Valley is the less replayable of the two expansions. There are five lego cars to collect and also a huge array of "brick challenges" which can be anything from smashing scenery to beating a time to drive from corner to corner of the map in particular vehicles. Most of them are pretty trivial though, which makes this expansion feel a bit more newbie-focused than for experienced Forza players. A massive roster of cars will perform all of these, each feeling different from the others, with a variety of upgrade and tuning options almost matching those of simulation titles.
While there are a few minor niggles here and there, they are nearly so small as to be hardly worth mentioning. All in all, it's impossible not to recommend this for anybody, regardless of them being a fan of racing games or not, as this is that good. You could just explore, too, looking for hidden missions, rare cars, or unique vistas. But the gameplay always revolved around the Horizon Festival. In December 2019, as part of the Series 17 update, a new 72-player battle royale-style mode called The Eliminator was added. In this mode, players start by driving around the game world in a fairly slow, weak car such as a 1965 Mini Cooper.
As players roam the safe zone, they can acquire car drops that contain more powerful vehicles that randomly appear on the map. Players can also challenge other players to head-to-head races to specific points on the map by pointing their camera at the other's vehicle and honking their horn. Players are eliminated from the event if they drive out of the safe zone or lose a head-to-head race, where the winner of such has the option to drive the opponent's car or receive an upgrade. Eventually, when the safe zone shrinks to a certain point, the remaining players will then race to one final point on the map to determine the winner.

The Festival Playlist has continued to be a part of each series since its introduction. You need to change your tunings and moods, bringing things to do. I like cars a lot and I like the idea of multiplayer, and this game is right on the point.
